Social Media
The Internet is now probably the most influential medium in the modern world. Information has never been so easily accessible before, nor has communicating across national boundaries and cultures.
The rise in social media is still a new phenomenon and it is not clear where it will lead or just how important it may yet become in people’s daily lives. The Internet has had a huge impact on the ways people communicate and even live their lives, making many things easier and much more convenient. However, there are concerns about personal identity security and governments spying on the people or using excessive censorship. |

Do you live in a bubble?
What would it feel like to be the most important person in the world, where everybody agrees with you? Well, this fantasy is becoming the reality for more and more people who spend more and more time on social media. As companies like Google, Facebook and Twitter increase the amount of data they have on each individual, they can update their algorithms to give you the information and feedback they think will make you happy. But is this good for you? Is it healthy to only see and hear the things you like and agree with? Learning how to deal with things we don't like or agree with is an essential skill to live in a functioning society. The ways in which many social media platforms work encourage their users towards narcissistic behaviors and attitudes - if we let them. So, it's probably a good idea to reach outside of your own personal bubble - at least sometimes.
